Amravati Territorial Circle includes Amravati, East Melghat, West Melghat and Buldhana Division. Area of Amravati, East melghat and West Melghat is spread out within a boundary of Amravati District while area of Buldhana Division is limited to district boundary of Buldhana District. Forests of Melghat region i.e. East Melghat and West Melghat Division is a dense forests while area of remaining forest divisions is scattered in nature. East Melghat Division is situated in the North East of Amravati District while West Melghat Division is situated in the North West of Amravati District.

Forests of Amravati Circles belongs to ‘Southern Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests’ as classified by Champion and Seth. Forests of Amravati Circle are having various types of timber yielding as well as species having medicinal values. The entire forest area, particularly forest area of Melghat region is having ample number of wild animals and rich in Bio-diversity. The important timber species are mainly Teak, Bija, Saja, Haldu, Kalam etc. along with Dhawada, Tendu, Moha, Salai etc tree species which constitutes NTFP in large quantity. Natural bamboo occurs only in the areas of East Melghat and West Melghat Division while it is sparsely occurs in the area of Amravati and Buldhana Division. Amravati Circle is rich in wild life species and it includes Tiger, Leopard, Bear, Gaur, Spotted deer, Blue bull, Black buck, Wilddogs etc. Amravati Circle is rich in birds, migratory birds visits the tanks and forest area in the circle. For protection and conservation of wildlife divisions like Gugamal Wildlife, Melghat tiger Project, Wan Sanctuary are established in the Amravati District. Similarly Narnala wildlife division is in Akola District and Dnyanganga 
wildlife, Ambabarwa wildlife divisions are in Buldhana District. The management of these wildlife divisions is done by their respective Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) ...
