The said Act shall apply to eligible persons, public authorities and local bodies providing public services as per the provisions of any law, rule, notification, order, government decision or any other instrument. It shall also apply to the services notified under the Right to Public Services Act. E.g. Forest Department

What are the objectives of this Act?
Answer

The Act has been enacted to provide transparent, efficient and timely public services to eligible persons and to bring transparency and accountability among public authorities providing public services to eligible persons.

Which public service services of the Forest Department are covered by the Right to Public Service Act?
Answer

The said Act is applicable to the public services notified by the public authority as per Section-3 of the Right to Public Service Act. At present, a total of 13 services have been notified in the Forest Department under this Act.

Registration of bamboo contractors/producers.
ii) Registration of new bamboo workers for bamboo supply.
iii) Granting compensation for livestock damage caused by wild animal attacks.
iv) Granting financial assistance in case of injury or death of a person due to wild animal attacks.

v) Grant of compensation for crop loss due to damage caused by wildlife.
vi) Permission for photography during the tourist season in wildlife areas (for one year)
vii) Permission for photography during the tourist season in wildlife areas (for more than one year)
viii) Renewal of logging license
ix) Permission to non-tribal applicants for felling of trees in non-urban areas
x) Permission to tribal applicants for felling of trees in non-urban areas
xi) Registration for industrial transport pass
xii) Application for obtaining certificate regarding non-forest land
xiii) Application for obtaining certificate of distance from forest boundary

Answer

The public authority is required to display the list of documents to be submitted along with the application for public service on the notice board of its office or on the website or portal of the department.

Answer

According to the Act, every "eligible person" has the right to receive public service within the prescribed time limit.

Is the right to receive public service absolute?
Answer

No. The right of an eligible person to receive public service within the prescribed time limit is subject to legal,
technical and financial feasibility.
